Gate Clerk

Northwest Container Services, a Waste Connections company, is currently looking for a full-time Gate Clerkto work at our Rail Yard in Portland, OR.

The shift is Monday - Friday

Schedule is 6:15 AM - 2:45 PM OR 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM

Wage is $23.00/HR-$24.00/HR DOE

Safety Sensitive: Yes

Responsibilities:

• Greet and direct all customers and drivers upon entrance to the terminal
• Tracktruck details and inspectionsin handheld scanning device.
• Enter truck information into computer system
• Approaching all encounters with employees, customers and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner
• Work on your feet outside in all weather conditions throughout your shift
• This is a safety-sensitive position

The ideal candidate will possess:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent customer service skills
• On-the-job computer use/data entry
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to stand throughout an 8-hour shift
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to climb, bend, and stoop to inspect containers.
