The Senior HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of the TC Brooklyn site's HR strategy. This position requires an experienced and perceptive HR professional who can build strong relationships across all levels of the organization while balancing business needs and employee engagement. He/She will collaborate closely with the HR team and site leaders to champion the organization's strategic vision, values, and culture. Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner, this role will provide expert guidance on employee relations, payroll administration, talent acquisition, onboarding, coaching and training People Leaders, employee recognition, engagement, performance management and conflict resolution. As a strategic business partner, this individual will work closely with leadership to identify challenges, develop solutions, and implement HR programs and processes that drive positive business outcomes.

This position is based onsite at our facility located at 975 Essex Street, Brooklyn, NY. The salary range for this role is between $85,000 and $105,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.


Responsibilities

  • Ensuring workplace safety and adherence to regulations, PPE, and food safety policies.
  • Managing the employee life-cycle - from processing new hires, conducting new hire orientations and open enrollments, to conducting interviews and support processing terminations.
  • Serving as the primary resource for ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management, while supporting managers with training on effective communication and resolution techniques.
  • Conduct investigations related to employee complaints, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations, as directed.
  • Performs routine tasks and provides HR guidance in areas like benefits, leave administration, performance reviews and employee relations.
  • Advising leadership on company policies, workplace issues, and compliance with employment laws.
  • Driving cultural initiatives, wellness programs, and community engagement.
  • Supporting workforce planning, recruitment strategies, and process improvements.
  • Coach leaders on performance management best practices and effective leave management practices.
  • Identifying HR trends and recommending improvements for retention, training, and career development.
  • Recommends innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to enhance departmental efficiency and improve service delivery.
  • Maintain employee files and all other employment related records.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of HR experience, preferably in high-functioning manufacturing/unionized environments.
  • HR Professional Certifications highly desirable Strong knowledge of employment laws, workers' compensation, and safety protocols.
  • Experience with applicant tracking, LMS, and HR systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with a strong ability to run reports and analyze data.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to develop HR solutions.
  • Talent identification expertise and awareness of workplace trends.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Self-directed and able to manage projects independently and accept direction when needed.
  • Adaptability to a fast-changing environment with independent work capability.
  • Proven ability to drive HR initiatives and manage high-quality projects.
