Overview

Position is responsible to be actively involved in the day to day activities of the Commercial Banking Department, while developing/building a personal portfolio and the skills necessary to progress to a Commercial Portfolio Manager.

THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA.



Responsibilities

    Partner with Commercial Banking associates' on a day-to-day basis in order to learn the fundamentals of Commercial Banking, i.e. portfolio management, credit analysis, loan presentation, and loan negotiation with oversight from an experienced Commercial Relationship Manager
  • Begin process of obtaining business development (sales) skills through structured calling program to gain experience in outside loan production and negotiations
  • Actively participates and creates opportunities for lender participation in community organizations to source business development opportunities and demonstrate commitment to the location community
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years banking experience or equivalence in one or a combination of the following areas:
    • Development Program
    • Relationship Manager
    • Credit Analysis
    • Commercial Banking
  • Basic knowledge of the financial services industry, commercial lending and financial products and services and sales principles
  • Self-starter and ability to manage time properly
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to details
  • General working knowledge of PC operations to include word processing and spreadsheet applications
