Hourly Pay Range:

$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Supervisor, Laboratory Support Services
  • Location: Northwest Community Hospital
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: 8:00-4:30PM

What you will do:

  • Personnel Management Duties: Participates in hiring process. Supports training of staff. Performs annual competency assessments and monitors staffs logs and reports and other methods at least annually. Performs probationary and annual performance reviews. Participates in employee coaching and performance improvement plans / corrective actions. Identifies training needs of employees. Provides in-service training and education as required. Schedules staff to insure adequate staffing. Monitor time and attendance of staff. Assists in the new policies, procedures and processes. Holds and documents regular staff meetings.
  • Client Services/Clinical Lab Processing Duties: Oversee customer support staff and clinical lab processors. Provide day-to-day oversight of support services operations by managing workflows, scheduling personnel, and ensuring the timely completion of tasks. Provide guidance with management of the preanalytical variables associated with laboratory services. Supervises team to ensure compliance. Able to perform client services and specimen processor daily duties.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for implementing quality assurance measures, overseeing audits, ensuring proper documentation, and addressing any non-conformities. Track and report nonissues to leadership. Identify areas for improvement. Prepare and provide necessary PI data to Lab Quality.

What you will do:

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in biological science or medical technology, business management or computer science preferred.
  • Certification: Not applicable:
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in direct customer service required; three years of applicable healthcare experience required. Knowledge of medical terminology/insurance billing required.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Outgoing, compassionate personality. Good communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads. Able to be self-motivated and work independently and cooperatively as a strong team player. Moderate computer and excellent customer service skills.
