Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The School of Social Work at Fayetteville State University prepares competent social work professionals at undergraduate and graduate levels, promotes lifelong learning, and enhances the well-being of individuals, children, and families residing in rural, urban, and military communities throughout North Carolina, and globally.
Description of Work Continued:
Primary Purpose of the Position:

The School of Social Work at Fayetteville State University invites applications for a tenure-track 9-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful applicant will teach primarily in the undergraduate program but may be responsible for teaching graduate courses in an online format as well as providing academic advisement to students. In addition to instructional duties, the successful applicant will be required to maintain an active program of scholarship, service, and be willing to seek and participate in extramural funding. The salary for faculty positions is commensurate with experience. The School of Social Work is seeking an innovative educator who is excited about the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues who teach in this program.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a Doctorate in Social Work

  • MSW degree,
  • Two-years post-MSW practice experience.
  • Administration experience and teaching experience at the BSW level.
  • This position requires strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong research capacity and the potential to generate external research funding.

* Online teaching experience
* Commitment to scholarship and service
* Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist highly preferred
