About this Opportunity
The Teachers College welcomes applications for part-time adjunct instructor positions available for the Fall and Spring semesters. Instructors are needed to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in American Sign Language (ASL). Both on campus and online courses are available.

Description
The Teachers College has part-time adjunct instructor positions available for the Fall and Spring semesters. Instructors are needed to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in American Sign Language ( ASL). Both on campus and online courses are available.

Please note that applications will remain active for one year from the posting date. Therefore, if you apply for this position, you may not hear from the Department of Special Education until there is a need to hire an instructor to teach a specific course.
Minimum Qualifications
Adjuncts teaching undergraduate courses in ASL, the minimum qualifications include a masters degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Culture Studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

Adjuncts teaching graduate level courses must have a doctoral degree in American Sign Language, Deaf Culture Studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution or meet the tested experience policy.

Documented evidence of fluency in ASL.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
For adjuncts teaching courses in ASL, the preferred qualifications are:

MA or Ph.D in American Sign Language, Deaf Culture Studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

2 years of teaching ASL in a post-secondary setting.

Documented evidence of fluency in ASL.
Examples: ASLPI rating of 4+/5 or SLPI: ASL rating of Advanced, passing a state-level performance exam, submission of teaching demonstration with application materials.

Native fluency in ASL

Ability to teach courses on-campus.
Required Certifications/Licensures
