Job Summary
Inserts needles and collects blood from patients in a medical setting, labels blood samples, and conducts routine tests to assist the doctor with providing official diagnoses.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares patient for lab testing
- Verifies patient information
- Collects blood samples
- Conducts drug screenings
- Processes and labels blood samples
- Handles samples in accordance with departmental guidelines and policies
- Correctly enter the patient’s information into a database
- Collect payments, when applicable
- Run diagnostic tests to assist in a formal diagnosis
